Who can sign up for Empatico?

Empatico is currently available for educators who: 

• work directly with students (ages 5-18) in a classroom, camp, or after-school/weekend program; 
• have internet access and a computer, tablet, or mobile phone with a camera; and 
• teach students who speak English or Spanish, or can converse in English or Spanish with some teacher assistance.

Teachers know their students best and whether Empatico would fit their classroom needs and student abilities. As long as the sign-up requirements are met, we encourage educators in a variety of settings to try Empatico, including special education teachers, language teachers, library information specialists, art teachers, and teachers who specialize in a core content area (e.g., science, social studies, literacy). Once you match with a partner classroom, we recommend discussing your classroom setting and student population with your partner educator using the text or video chat features built into your teacher dashboard.
